There is a mighty Oak tree. Its trunk is like an immense wall. It is the World Tree, or the Axis Mundi. The Oak expands in all directions. Rainbow-coloured Xylem and phloem travel up and down its form. The tree gently over at its top and bottom to become a circle. This circle spins around its own centre like a great winnowing fan. The fan slices everything including into razor-thin sheets of multi-coloured sunlight that scatter in all directions. The action of the undulating, pulsing, infinitely coloured, fan creates a gentle, cooling wind that spreads healing everywhere. Every infinitely small slice of wind from the fan feels like the flutter of a million birdwings or butterflies. All pain is dissolved by the fragmentation. The pleasure emanating from the tree ebbs and flows like the ocean’s tide. It waxes and wanes as though pulled by moon force. The tattoo illustrates connections to Nature, to my ancestors, and to my loved ones through the Oak.
